Is It Time For Simple Eating In your simple living journey, I hope you take time to look at simple eating. I didn’t enjoy cooking until I learned to simplify my meals. Disclaimer: I’m doing keto but I make meals for my non-keto partner. Hopefully, I can convince you of the benefits of skipping processed foods and go for simple menus. Instead of eating a microwaved meal in a plastic tray aka TV dinner, you can fix a chicken breast in the oven (or use a Instant Pot – my favorite kitchen appliance), steam some veggies in the microwave, and […]

What Doesn’t Work for My Fibromyalgia Pain I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia several years ago. I tried prescription medications and the side effects made me worse. Yeah, Gabapentin made me dopey and stupid. My skin itched like crazy. I stopped the medication but I still have fibromyalgia pain. Disclaimer: There are affiliate links in this article. I make just a small amount when you purchase from these links. It helps me pay for my server so I can keep blogging. I only present items I use personally and love. So I did research on how to manage the fibromyalgia pain […]
Follow my blog with Bloglovin I don’t use traditional toothpaste with fluoride and preservatives. When I used traditional toothpaste, my dentist was getting rich on my dental bills. Since I started making my own remineralizing and whitening toothpaste, my teeth are healthier. The whitening part is new now that I added activated charcoal to my powder. I tried brushing with just the activated charcoal but that was just a mess. Now it is part of my tooth powder and my teeth are getting whiter. Ingredients: 3 tbsp Calcium Carbonate powder 2 tbsp Bentonite Clay 4 tbsp Baking Soda 2 tbsp […]
Fibromyalgia causes widespread pain and the medication (Gabapentin) I am on doesn’t help that much. When I am stressed, I don’t sleep well. The lack of sleep increases the pain and then I can’t sleep because of all the pain. I recently went two days without any sleep and still had to go to work. One day with no sleep makes me grumpy but two days make me deliriously loopy. I have no idea how I was functioning but the pain was so bad, I wanted to cry. And I don’t cry so it’s bad. In a moment of desperation, […]
Why I was prescribed Citalopram My doctor prescribed Citalopram to help me with menopause symptoms – night sweats, hot flashes, moodiness, and insomnia. I took 20 milligrams and did well since it resolved the symptoms of menopause I had without side effects at that point. It was nice to get good sleep without the covers on and the covers off. I didn’t feel like I wanted to stick my head in the freezer when a hot flash hit. I call hot flashes POWER SURGES. My significant other didn’t miss the moodiness that’s for sure. I feel “flat” The doctor upped […]
Please don’t ask me to smell the milk to determine if it is any good or any other food for that matter. Of course, you can let one rip quietly and I would not know unless you tell me. I’m not bother by dead skunks, possums, or armadillos. Or garbage. Or a full litter box. Or someone’s bad breath. Most annoying thing is all the questions. Why can’t you smell? Maybe it’s just a cold. Can you smell this? Or that? Can you still taste food? I just can’t smell. I haven’t been able to smell for several years. I […]
Like everyone else, I was addicted to sugar. Sugar is so addicting. The only way to kick the addiction is to go cold turkey. It took a few days and I struggled. After that, I didn’t miss it. I still don’t. A beautiful cannolli didn’t look appetizing today. I drank straight tea with no sugar and it tasted great. I lived in Texas for 27 years so I have drank a ton of sweet tea. But I’ll take my tea straight up with no sugar. I walked past the Girl Scouts and their cookies and said “No, Thank You.” I […]
Over a year ago, I submitted my saliva spit to 23andMe to be informed of my health risks. It was a long wait for the results since I took advantage of the price drop to $99. When I got my results, I was not surprised really. I have a chance for Parkinson’s Disease which is understandable since my mother has Parkinson’s and so did a great grandfather. I also have a risk for heart disease. Really? Well, I guess that means my extra weight needs to go and now. I feel good about knowing my genetics in regards to my health. […]
